At long last we have started the process of updating our website, but this will take some time, so please bear with us and continue to send messages as before.

14.11.06

We hope to update you soon about forthcoming activities and our plans for 2007, but in the meantime thought we would let you know the live dates we currently have in our diary.

These are:

25th November 2006 - Hall for Cornwall, Truro
27th December 2006 - Floral Hall, Southport
31st December 2006 - Grand Theatre, Blackpool

8th March 2007 - Broadway Theatre, Peterborough
9th March 2007 - Ferneham Hall, Fareham
16th March 2007 - Theatr Hafren, Newtown
22nd March 2007 - Bridgewater Hall, Manchester
27th May 2007 - The Theatre, Southport

21.12.05

Firstly, let me start with some good news. 2006 will see the launch of my new Big Band which will contain new faces, as well as more familiar ones such as Norman Brown, Bob Howard and Deano Masser. We have already started planning a tour which we expect to start in the late Summer or early Autumn of 2006 and as soon as dates are available we will make sure they are posted on this site.

As well as the tour, I am also hoping to carry out a number of other appearances during next year including what has now become an annual fixture, the Gawsworth Hall concert. The dates so far in the diary for 2006 are:-

28th May 2006 - Southport Theatre
22nd June 2006 - Bolton Albert Halls
23rd June 2006 - Colne Municipal Hall
24th June 2006 - Consett Empire Theatre
30th July 2006 - Gawsworth Hall
4th November 2006 - Pontins Blackpool

During this year I have had many ideas for a new album, but unfortunately have been unable to get everybody together or go into the studio. Hopefully this will change in the early part of next year and we will have a new album ready for the tour.

That's it for now. Thanks to everyone who has contacted me and been so supportive and I am sorry I have been unable to reply to all the e-mails I have received.

Best wishes to everyone for the yuletide season and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

BRIEF MESSAGE FROM ANDY

Thank you to every one who has sent e-mails to me over the past couple of months. The one hour TV special proved to be a huge success and has created much interest in the industry.

It is heart warming to see and hear our kind of music receiving so much airplay on both radio and TV.  Many performers are having a bash at the Big Band style, some better than others. The Westlife album was good and along with Robbie Williams and Rod Stewart, it seems a whole new generation of music lovers are catching on to the Swing shift.  However, it is a pity that the choice of material is somewhat stagnant……how many more covers of ‘Mack the Knife’ can you take.? !

At the time of writing I have no planned dates with my Big Band. If and when dates are secured they will be listed here on the web site.

Sorry this is so brief but hopefully I will soon have some real new for you.  In the meantime, my thanks to all of you for your continuing support.

29.11.04

On 21st November Andy recorded a one hour special TV show which will be transmitted in the Granada and Yorkshire regions on 17th December 2004. More news on this to follow soon.

A MESSAGE FROM ANDY

A massive thank you to everyone who has written to me since Granada transmitted the TV series.  Your reaction has been fantastic and I am pleased to say totally positive.

So many of you have been in touch that it would be impossible for me to reply to everyone individually.  However, quite a few of you have made the same point or asked the same question, so here are a few thoughts or comments:-

1.      So far as I am aware, there are currently no plans for the TV series to be transmitted outside the Granada region.  If the position changes, and I find out that it will be transmitted elsewhere, I will put a message on my website as soon as I can.

2.      I hear that Granada are willing to sell copies of each individual programme for £99 and all five for £495.  I do not know anything about this, but if it is true it sounds like far too much money to me!

3.      I am not aware of any plans to transfer the programme onto video or DVD

4.      I am talking to Granada about another show and other TV opportunities, but there is nothing to confirm at the moment.

5.      The only confirmed live date I have in the diary at the moment is 15th January 2005 at Warners Holidays in the Isle of Wight.  However, I am hoping to organise a tour in the next few months, and will let you have details when these are available.

6.      To those of you who have asked me if I could arrange for myself and the Big Band to perform at your wedding, special birthday or other event, I am sorry to say that I do not do private engagements because I am asked to do so many that I could not do them all, so feel it is better just to say I do not do any!

7.      Many of you have asked me to recommend one or more of my CDs but I hope you will not be surprised to hear that I cannot single out one above the others.  I suggest you look through the track listing and choose the one that you think you will like the most and ... enjoy listening to whichever one you do buy.

8.      To those of you that have asked if I will listen to a CD if you send it to me, the answer is that I will, but I cannot promise when and on the advice of my lawyer, it is very unlikely that I will make any comments on what I hear.  I am not trying to be difficult, but if everyone who has asked me to listen to a CD sends one to me, it is going to take me months to listen to them all!

Anyway, to those of you that want to persevere please send them to me at Bank Chambers, Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1UN.

OTHER NEWS:

1.      Thanks to everyone who wrote to me after the show at Gawsworth Hall.  It's a great venue and I'm delighted you all enjoyed it.

2.      I'm still going into the studio soon, but it now looks as though it will be in September.  At the moment, the plan is to put down a few tracks and see how they sound, so please do not ask when the next album is coming out as I just do not know - but be sure that when I do know, the news will be on this website well in advance of the release date.

I know I have not replied to every question that has been asked recently and I'm really sorry for that.  I just hope that if you all knew how many questions there were, you would understand why I cannot deal with each one individually.

That's it for now.  Thanks again for all your support, it means a huge amount to me.

Having enjoyed some well deserved time off over Christmas and New Year, Andy is now looking forward to resuming the Big Band Crazy 2 tour, which kicks off again in Oldham on 23rd January.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2003!!!

21.11.02

At the beginning of this month, Andy and the band had a great reception when they played at the Royal Gala in Southampton in aid of Wessex Heartbeat. We have recently received some photographs of Andy and John Miller meeting the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and hopefully will be able to get them up on the site soon.

Tonight Andy is in Bridlington, which is the first of three shows "up north" and concludes the Big Band Crazy tour as we know it!
Andy and John will be joined by the fantastic Donna Canale, when the next stage of the tour starts at Manchester Bridgewater Hall.

Oops! - the tour dates are looking a bit out of date at the moment, but will be updated at the beginning of next week, so bare with us!!
